         Welcome! Thank you so much for considering A Pink Ribbon Boutique for your mastectomy needs. I'd like to take a moment to tell you a little about me and why I opened this store.

        My goal in starting this company was to be able to help as many people as I possibly can. I was inspired by my mother's first personal battle with Breast Cancer. After her first surgery, we had a hard time finding items that complimented her personality. She was fairly young and wanted to continue to keep up with the latest trends but honestly just about everything that we saw in our local mastectomy care stores screamed "Grandma's Closet". She and I complained and complained to eachother so much that I decided to do something about it. 

        The inability to find age-appropriate clothing wasn't our only complaint. We also wished that there was funding for screening available in our area. When we researched it, we found that some areas offered assistance but only if you lived in a certain zip code or county. So my solution is to provide funding towards screening to anyone within the 50 states with no location prejudice. Anyone who submits an application can get funding as long as funding is available and they haven't already been funded previously. 

       Another thing I wished for was support. Being that my mother was so young (mid-30s) when she first got Breast Cancer, none her or my friends could really relate to our situation. Everybody would say, "I know how you feel..." or they'd be speechless so at the time we were our only support. As much as we love eachother, it would be nice to talk to others like us for encouragement. This is where our online support group comes from.
